Our Story
We design people-oriented art projects [mainly] in the public space.
What is it about?
It is about
the life;
the arts;
the ideas;
the people;
the public space;
the creative space;
the young and the old;
the artist and the audience;

Among the Ants was founded in Athens in 2009, to initiate ideas blending artistic exchange & community engagement [mainly] in the public space.
Each of our projects is human-oriented, informed by local history and residents’ daily lives, who contribute to making change happen in the area they live in. Every time a new project begins, we initiate research locally, to find people, organisations and collectives whose work and artistic practice reflect the project theme. We collaborate with interdisciplinary disabled and non-disabled artists, young creatives & communities to co-design concepts spanning arts education and outdoor arts.
This multisensory, cross-disciplinary approach has significantly expanded our network and made complex ideas possible, such as kaos, and Παιγνιόθεν, two projects we'd like to come back to.
We also facilitate creative conversations via μoment Creative, a hybrid mentoring platform for artists and creatives. Grounded in exploration, practical tools and peer exchange, it aims to empower artists with resources, strategies and connections to navigate the arts sector with confidence.
Each of our projects is an opportunity to bring to life stories filled with creativity, sensitivity and purpose. We are inspired by the public space. Why? Because amid the busyness of everyday life, there’s always a need for moments of beauty, indulgence and togetherness.
Each project -an intentionally small act of creativity-, creates room for softness, challenges perceptions and makes space for lived experiences to be seen and celebrated. We aim to bring the arts from neighbourhood to neighbourhood, where lived experience, joy, and storytelling take centre stage.
